Our team noticed that FINTRAC registrations are taking much longer than usual, and I was able to ask a FINTRAC representative about this at a conference today. It seems that a new step (submission of a business plan) has been added to the MSB registration and that this is used to assess whether there are actually MSB activities or not. There is currently a backlog of about 6 weeks in making these assessments.
